 Animals in Kenya     

  Kenya's National Parks:

The Kenya wildlife service was founded in 1989 to conserve and manage Kenya's natural environment for the benefit of all, has maintained a number of National parks in Kenya. They include;


1. Mt Kenya                  6. Aberdare            11. Amboseli 
2. Lake Nakuru            7. Meru                   12. Maasai 
3. Mt Elgon                   8. Nairobi  
4. Samburu                  9. Sibilio 
5. Tsavo West           10.Tsavo East 

The Animal Orphanage:

 

This is located next to the Nairobi National Park and was founded in 1963 to give care to any young wild animals that have been deserted or that residents have reared but are unable to manage them no more. It also serves as an educational resource for schools and colleges. Currently there are lions, cheetahs, monkeys, serval, a number of birds, a young bull, duikers, warthogs and some snakes.

African Dogs, Bats, Bongos, Buffalos, Bush Baby, Caracals, Cheetah , Dik-dik

Duikers, Elephants, Fish, Foxes, Gazelles, Genet, Giant rodents & Rats, Giraffes

Hippopotamus, Hirolas, Hyenas, Hyraxes, Impalas, Jackals, Kudus, Leopard

Lions, Mongoose, Oryxes, Priamtes, Rhinoceros, Serval, Snakes & Reptiles, Sunis
