Swahili
Most Kenyans speak English very well but it helps when a tourist has grasped a few words  in Swahili the second national language spoken by all. It become extremely useful when asking for directions, help or just bargaining for an item yu would like purchase. Other languages spoken but not very popular are French and German. There are also local dialects that are popular such as Kikuyu and Kikamba
